Benefits of The Birkman Method®
This method offers a long list of benefits for your business, including:
- Creating a more unified team by helping every employee to better understand themself and their coworkers
- Getting to the root cause of problems and resolving issues, rather than rushing to fire or discipline employees
- Recognizing important opportunities for employees, managers, and leaders
- Understanding why people aren’t happy in their current positions
- Helping your team to build more effective communication skills
How Does The Birkman Method® Work?
The Birkman Method® uses a series of impartial assessments to identify the interpersonal style of each member of your team by discovering their underlying needs, interests, motivations, and behaviours.
By analyzing each team member’s personality, these assessments allow you to identify the root causes of whatever issues your team is facing, and understand the kinds of behavioural changes required to solve these problems by gaining greater knowledge of yourself and your colleagues.
The Five Major Perspectives of The Birkman Method®
This method looks at several aspects of your personality, including:
- Normal Behaviours – Your strengths and how you act when you’re at your best.
- Underlying Needs – What you need to stand in your strengths, including your needs, desires, and expectations.
- Stress Behaviours – The problematic behaviours you display when your underlying needs are not being met.
- Interests – The kinds of activities you gravitate towards and enjoy.
- Organizational Focus – How you think about the problems in your workplace, their potential solutions, and how that relates to the goals of your organization.
